Managed Backup Services

Business- and project-critical applications often require often regular backups of operating and user data in order to guarantee operating reliability.

 

With Managed Backup Service, we provide a specific platform for the external storage of data backups. Each basic offer for a Dedicated Server already includes 1 GB disk space on our backup servers. The storage capacity contingent can be extended easily at any time.

 

Access on the backup servers takes place directly via CIFS (Common Internet File System), rsync or FTP – as a matter of course with optional SSL encryption. In this way, it's possible to carry out data backups by means of standard applications in a fast and easy way. We recommend the following backup software: Acronis True Image Server or Symantec Backup.

  • The data transfer to tbe backup servers is not added to the monthly traffic volume.

  • Data backups are the sole responsibility of the customer. It's at the discretion of the customer to carry out himself the data backups or to charge Genotec AG with it in the framework of a fee-based maintenance contract (see also System Management).
