Nowadays, the importance of the communication by e-mail is steadily growing. It is all the more important, therefore, to secure this medium against disruptions because critical malfunctions with disastrous consequences may occur sooner than expected.

That’s exactly where Fallback Mail Queue gets involved and increases not only the stability of your serves but also
the operating reliability.

We offer you the possibility to protect your system and your users efficiently against spam and viruses and this at favourable conditions. You will also appreciate the advantages of securing your incoming e-mails by means of the Fallback Queues.

Fallback Queue Modus

In order to use the Fallback Queue Modus, we establish, in addition to your primary e-mail server, supplementary MX hosts in the DNS .

If your e-mail server is temporarily not accessible, the incoming e-mails are redirected to MX hosts and remain there for up to five (5) days in the waiting queue.
During this period, delivery is repeated at regular intervals. In this way, you will receive the e-mails immediately after your server is operational again.

This operating mode protects you against the loss of not received e-mails but offers no protection against spam and viruses.

Primary Queue Modus

The Primary Queue Modus protects you against the loss of not received e-mails, and against spam and viruses as well.

At this end, your primary e-mail server in the DNS is deleted and replaced by backup queues. They in turn will pick up all incoming e-mail and transmit them in the background to your own e-mail server. If your server is temporarily unaccessible, the same rules for delivery apply as is the case in the Fallback Queue Modus.

In addition, you will be protected against spam and viruses through the use of state-of-the-art technologies since a prefiltering is carried out.
For this reason, it is not absolutely necessary that you run additional resource-hungry spam and virus filters which slow down the system.

Scope of services

According to the operating mode you choose, you will have not all functions completely at your disposal as shown in the table below.
However, you can decide for yourself which operating mode you use. In fact, you can easily define this for each individual domain in the Dedicated Control Center at your discretion.
